SQUARE END TIES?

Sep 17 2014Bespoke, In the News

Our Madison Avenue showroom is quintessential New York City. From the crown molding, to the solid wood cabinetry, we maintain a certain classic look. With that said, you can only imagine our surprise to the latest trend in ties – The Square End Tie. Throughout the last century, Oleg Cassini and other designers took a liking to this style of ties, and today the younger generation, with their interest in vintage  and ‘back in the day’ looks, has embraced and brought back the square end tie.

New York Fashion Week I Fall 2014

Sep 17 2014

New York Fashion Week ended in early September, but our indecisive climate has pushed fall fashion back a few weeks. Slowly but surely, we are starting to see the latest trends walking down the world’s most recognizable runway – the streets of New York City. David's Tips: Suited for the Rain

Sep 17 2014Tips from David Lance

There’s nothing like a good rain to disrupt your morning or evening commute. In today’s fast-paced society, we cannot stop our lives because of inclement weather. Here in New York, the streets were still packed during the now notorious Polar Vortex in 2013. Rain or shine, the show must go on. Unfortunately for us, suits can be the a difficult option for an outfit when you’re on the move. With a few precautions and a well-made suit, you can stay comfortable, warm, and dry, while still protecting your suit.

Among all of the electronic music and the trend of wearing sneakers with suits, a throwback to when times were, well just simply better in terms of fashion, has seen a revival. The book I Am Dandy: The Return of the Elegant Gentleman by Nathaniel Adams seems to have its finger on the pulse of a movement which is bringing back the time of the gentleman. The book highlights the appreciation for “the finer things in life” for men. Yes, there was once a time when men cared about how they were perceived by what they wore, and they wanted to be seen not only as wealthy but as gentlemen. How someone wanted to be perceived was not focused on expensive cars and gold chains draped from one’s neck. Men of all economic backgrounds dressed their best when they stepped out.

Spring 2014 I Deconstructed Coats

Apr 04 2014Bespoke

There is nothing comparable to springtime in New York City. It is the small window between the frigid temperatures of late winter, and the humidity and crowds of summer. The Spring almost comes across as a celebration of great weather. With everyone’s elevated moods, you tend to see a jubilant touch in everyone’s style.

Fall 2013 - Mink Blend Fabrics

Oct 03 2013

There is no more luxurious article of clothing than a mink stole. For centuries, mink has been prized for its incomparable touch that is distinguishable from any other pelt. It is not commonly known that mink is not strictly utilized true to its form – it is also used as a component in fabrics. Mink fur is added into wool or cashmere to make it softer to the touch. Wool and cashmere are plenty warm enough on their own or blended together, therefore mink is strictly added to make the fabric more luxurious.
